It’s a tough choice deciding where to book for Christmas and New Year. What’s the best venue? Who’s serving the best food? Where’s the best service and the best entertainment? Holm House in Penarth comes into its own at Christmas and New Year so we popped in to find out more.
What will Holm House be offering for Christmas and New Year?
In December the hotel will be offering a delicious set lunch and party menu, served in The Welsh Room, from the 1st to the 24th. The head chef has put together a menu which is full of dishes that are perfect to eat in the lead up to the big day. An example of the menu could be rabbit and leek terrine to start, roast sea bass with leeks and samphire to follow and Holm House Christmas Pudding to nish. Two courses cost £23 per person or 3 courses for £26. A two course dinner option costs £26 per person and £29 for three courses. Anyone who regularly visits Holm House for one of their amazing Afternoon Teas will be in for a treat as in the lead up to the big day, the hotel is offering Afternoon Teas with a Festive twist.
There’s no better place to party?
If you have been charged with booking the of ce party, then your colleagues will thank you for booking at Holm House. The hotel’s Christmas Dinner and Dances will be held on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Friday 16th December and will include a zz reception with canapes and a stunning four course meal and dancing to a DJ until midnight. The feedback from previous years’ events has meant that these evenings are already lling up fast, so early booking is recommended.
What about the big day?
So the big day has nally arrived and, for those of you lucky enough to have booked the 8 course Christmas Day menu, you’re in for a real treat. The atmosphere at Holm House during the festive season is unbelievable. The cost for adults is £88 per person with children under 12 at £44 per person.
And Boxing Day?
Not many people can face turkey again on Boxing Day so our chefs have prepared a tasty alternative. A sample could be cured salmon and cray sh salad with Wasabi mayonnaise and baby leaves to start, followed by pan fried Cod loin with clam, pancetta and herb broth and to nish a zingy Lemon Tart with Italian meringue and chocolate sorbet. Two courses cost £22 per person, 3 courses £26 and for smaller guests, two courses are £11 and three, £13.
What about Holm House on New Year’s Day?
There’s no better way to spend this special day. An equally stunning three course menu is on offer with prices the same as those on Boxing Day. Fancy a Christmas Spa Package? And who wouldn’t? Sprinkle some spice into our Christmas with the lusciously warming Journey of the Spice Route treatments package.
Start the day off with a glass of Prosecco and choose two of three treatments; 7’ spiced mini facial, spiced full body scrub or Ayrvedic back, neck and shoulder massage. The package also includes full use of the spa and leisure facilities, use of robe, slippers and towels and complimentary teas, coffee and juices and a two course lunch from the hotel’s warming winter set menu.
